Friends of Spanish Sunday
By the time you get to this page, you’re well aware that I’m all about community and collaboration — mostly where food is concerned. That goes for the people and businesses that we know and trust. We happily recommend the wonderful businesses below, and we have confidence that you’ll be pleased with your experience with them.
We know and trust these partners, and know you will be in good hands.
We aren’t affiliates, and don’t get any kickback or commission from recommending them. We do partner with them from time to time to offer joint events, that are in line with our goals — creating fun, low-key food experiences that are affordable and help you make new connections, or strengthen existing ones.
Craig and Chloe put up with me crooning in Spanish to the bottle lambs while I feed them their milk. And in exchange we get to shovel poo now and then.
They have the best milk for cheesemakers — fresh sheep’s milk that you can get through their herd share program. They also have farm fresh cow’s milk, organic chicken and duck eggs, pork, and lamb.
Visit their site, and contact them for the best products ever. And tell them Denise sent you (so they’ll let me keep playing with lambs).
Kate Johnson started with a couple of kids (real ones and the goat kind) and quickly became the owner and head cheese instructor at The Art of Cheese. Kate taught me and my honey how to make cheese — which has since pretty much taken over our lives. She’s a great instructor — and if you ever thought about making cheese, here’s your chance. Her website will tell you all about her classes in Longmont, and online. If you feel like a little “working” vacation, Longmont is a wonderful area for a visit — and a great place to learn to make cheese. Visit The Art of Cheese website and sign up for a class — and you just may find me teaching a Spanish cheesemaking class now and then!
