Paella, (pie-ay-ya) is not just a meal — it’s an experience. This delicious rice dish comes in more forms than you can imagine – but we’re going to focus on the original, authentic version – Paella Valenciana. Valencia, on the eastern coast of Spain, is home to vast rice fields, and is the birthplace of paella.

We’ve lived part-time in Spain for nearly 20 years, and a big part of that time has been spent learning how to make wonderful Spanish food — including tapas and paella. And we’ve had the great good fortune to have learned the inside tips and techniques in the kitchens of moms, grandmas, and professional chefs.

In this class we’ll cook together to create an “entrada” – or Spanish appetizer, and we’ll make Paella Valenciana that we’ll share at the end of class. You’ll learn why paella is such a fundamental part of Spanish culture, and how it can become a new tradition for your friends and family. Bring people together to share amazing food, the way that Spaniards do.

So bring a friend, bring your honey, and bring your notepad. We´ll cook together, and you´ll spend a relaxing and fun afternoon sipping non-alcoholic Sangria and having the closest thing to an authentic Spanish experience that you can have this side of the Atlantic ocean.

Space is limited so that there’s plenty of opportunities for hands-on and to talk about the traditions and culture of paella. Come and experience a little corner of Spain with us!
